When there is little or no main wave reflected by an object under the reference light source in the light source spectrum, it will cause a noticeable color shift. The greater the degree of color difference, the worse the color rendering of the light source to that color. The color rendering index coefficient (Kaufman) is still a common method for defining the color rendering evaluation of light sources. The color rendering index of an incandescent lamp is defined as 100, which is considered an ideal reference light source. This system uses 8 standard color samples with moderate chromaticity to test and compare the degree of deviation between these 8 colors under the test light source and the same color temperature reference. To measure the color rendering index of the light source, take the average deviation value Rr20-100, with 100 being the highest. The larger the average color difference, the lower the Rr value. Light sources below 20 are usually not suitable for general purposes.
